Hey everyone!... We're back!.. We're back in action, now that Diana had our first born, "Ivan Emmanuel de la Peña," May 16th 2017, and we couldn't be more excited to serve you with your maternity, newborn, Smash Cake, Family portraits, and more! But first... Meet our little guy (2 weeks old in this pic), Ivan Emmanuel...
It's been about a year since Diana did consistent photo shoots every week. She did some photo shoots here and there, but her pregnancy was actually pretty rough for most of the 9 month term. She dropped about 20 lbs in 2 weeks due to not being able to hold down food, and other "fun" stuff like that. My wife is amazing, that's for sure. I have a new found respect for mothers, and all that you ladies endure, during and after your pregnancy. You ladies are incredible. Thank God, Diana is back to her normal weight, and she's back in the studio capturing beautiful moments for mommies, their little ones, and for their families. Moving Forward...Now that Ivan is 2 months old at the time of my writing this blog post, Diana and I have decided to team up together, and grow our photography business in Long Beach, by serving amazing women, just like you. I am a professional Internet marketer that helps small businesses grow their businesses online, and I'll continue to do that, but we're both really excited about growing our photography business together as husband and wife. We feel so blessed to have so many people say such great things about Diana's photography in places like our Facebook Fan Page, Yelp, and in video testimonials recorded by happy customers of ours. |
Moms can remember that although pregnancy isn’t easy, it is an amazing time in their lives. Remembering what it was like when it was just the two of you (or three or more), to remember that the uncomfortable things in life can bring us the greatest joy. Overall, just to remember the miracle. Think of all the things that are going on inside that tiny little space in your body. You’ve grown a brand new person inside of you! Our bodies are miraculously built in a way that allows us to bring life into the world. We can carry a child within us as they grow and develop to the point that can safely survive in the world. |
2. Celebration...
We always take photos at wedding celebrations, at parties, and at any other special celebration. Why not celebrate this beautiful experience in a women's life. Maternity photos are not just about a "baby bump." They are a way for us to celebrate the baby we’re about to meet, to celebrate a new family member, and to celebrate the strength of our bodies. That "baby bump" is beautiful. As women, we need to take back our bodies and take back celebrating what we are capable of. Celebrate! Celebrate this beautiful moment is your life! |
3. Bonding Time
The fact is, you've got to hold these pictures very dear to your heart, because of the emotion, the experience, and the bonding that happens.
Looking at those photos you can bring yourself right back there to those moments, and feel so much love and appreciation for your partner, and other children in the family.
Feeling the love, looking into the eyes of your family members and making that special connection, and that special bond will always remind you of just how lucky you were to have those moments in your life.

It can be harder for a "dad-to-be" to bond with an unborn baby, since the baby is growing inside of you the mommy – and not him.
But he can’t feel it so he doesn’t know how wonderful it is.
By putting dad in the picture (pardon the pun!) you can help him bond with baby a bit more too, and it gives him some special memories of his own

If you have children already, they may feel really special by being in some of your maternity photos, hugging your belly, kissing your belly, showing their love, and bonding with baby. It can help them to feel important too, and it's a nice memory which they can look at one day and remember, "I was there when you were in mummy’s tummy!"
Some children may feel apprehensive about the new changes coming – what it will mean for them when the baby comes.
Pregnancy photos with your older children is a nice way to put a fun and exciting touch to your family's changes.

4. Even More Beautiful
Pregnancy is a thing of beauty, every time I see a pregnant women, I see the beauty in her.
Please ignore the cheeky gremlins in your mind telling you otherwise.
Believe me, some women surely feel envious and jealous of you too, remembering what a special time pregnancy was and/or wishing they were in your shoes!
By the way, if you don't believe it, just come to my studio and let me prove it to you.

5. Memories for a Lifetime
You might be unsure about it now, but if you don’t have a photography session while you’re pregnant, you’ve lost the chance to create once in a lifetime memories that you can’t get them back.
Photos also trigger memories, feelings, emotions and they help you remember them more vividly.
Even if you don’t care for the memory for yourself, I can assure you that when your children are older, they will be delighted to see the photos of their pregnant mamma, while they were growing inside of you.
This is a great opportunity for you to remember that although pregnancy isn’t easy, it’s an amazing time.
I believe our photos will provide all of that emotions in you for a lifetime.

6. Professional VS a friend with good camera
Yes, you could just take images at home, or get them done by a friend or family member.
But a professional photographer can create a work of art, taking into consideration the best angles, lighting, effects, focus and depth.
And they can totally transform what would otherwise be just a shot of you, into a story, a feeling, a work of art.
They can prepare any images you may want printed and give them a great finish that will ‘wow’ not only you, but your friends and family.
Images that relatives may want to purchase and treasure for themselves. Great photos make great presents too!

7. Creativity
Its important to do a bit of research or give some thought into ideas or themes you’d like for your pregnancy photos. If you find things on the web or in magazines, just save your favorite images to show your photographer. An experienced or talented Maternity photographer will be great at directing you and suggesting ideas, so its good to find out what they like to do in maternity shoots. Good research can help you to reflect elegance, fun, intimacy, and of course creativity in your Maternity pictures. Its important to mention that you can add your baby's name, ultrasound, or shoes, etc. and keep them for him or her with a picture next to it until he or she is old. |
I personally don't have any box of myself with memories, but my Mother-in-Law gave me one of my husband that I really love - especially the fact that at least one of us have something to share with our children.
8. Once is gone, Is Gone
There are only a few months in your life, per baby, that you’ll have a glorious, noticeable, round belly.
Sadly it takes months to show and you have that in-between ‘could be a squishy tummy, but could also be pregnant’ stage too!
Before you know it, the birth is over, they’ll be at school, or having their own kids, just like your parents will tell you.
And those dear moments of pregnancy will be but a distant memory.
Even if it’s something you do just in case you might want it later, I don’t know anyone who has regretted getting a pregnancy photo shoot – but I know plenty who regret not doing it. -

Then, when you see the beautiful photos created, you will see that what you criticize in the mirror isn’t so bad after all.
Sometimes we have to change what we’re doing before our thinking follows suit.

"We Can Remove Anything You Don't Like, So Relax and Don't Worry, I'll Worry for You "
In this beautiful career of mine, I have had the opportunity to take pictures of a good amount of beautiful women. The problem in my opinion is that, many Mommies cannot see their own beauty at times. Some of these beautiful Moms ask me if I can take off "something" in their pictures and I always assure them just how beautiful they truly are, but I also reassure them that they "don't have to worry, because I have a "magical program" that helps me to remove pretty much anything - from a little pimple on the face, to even a big tattoo on their arms.
When Nancy came to her photo shoot she expressed how uncomfortable she felt about showing her tattoos in her pictures. So I reassured her and helped her not to worry. Here is the final product of her photo session.
What do you think?..

As you can see, you can hardly see the tattoo Nancy has. I have had many mommies with stress marks, some that were a little overweight, varicose veins, grey hair, etc., and I always tell them, "Don't worry, I will worry for you!" When they see their final pictures, I always end up with happy moms. |
In these last two pictures, you are able to see for sure that she had tattoos on her body. I bet you can't figure out where her tattoos were until now, right?
Meet Aubree.
Aubree parents, with a desire to celebrate the first year of Aubree's life, decided to get Aubree's photos taken for her fist birthday party.
They also wanted to take the opportunity to record this special moment for both. Aubree is such a cutie, adorable little girl. The first time I straightened my arms out to Aubree, to see how she would react, she jumped right into my arms and gave me such a strong, loving, and feeling hug that lasted the whole photo shoot. It was more than enough to feel just how incredibly loving Aubree really is.

Mommy was really afraid of how the smash cake was going turn around. Of course, we were expecting the results we had, because it's not called a, "Smash Cake" for nothing. 8-) I can say the session turned out very well, Aubree had the chance to enjoy her "Smash Cake" and we were able to capture amazing photography for her "first year" party and of course... a photo session that her parents can treasure forever. |
First birthdays are a big milestone for both the baby and parents!.
Melissa and Montserrat came to my studio for Montserrat's first birthday portraits. Isn't she an adorable girl? Montserrat parents celebrated her first birthday at Disneyland, but... they also wanted to cherish a special memory of her first birthday. Mommy was a little worried, because the "Smash Cake" that took her all night to create... fell apart right before the photo session. :0(

Luckily, I had an hour break after her photo session so that gave her time to go and buy another cake. We had a amazing time taking pictures. You can tell that Montserrat didn't really care about eating the cake, but she enjoyed the moment for sure.

Sometimes I encourage the parents to be in some of the photos I take. I usually recommend that we take these Family Portraits at the beginning of the session, so that it will help the babies to get used to the new environment and
Remember the newborn that broke the record for not falling asleep for longer then two hours?
Well...here he is: Baby Odin at 2 months old!
It's amazing how much he has changed already since we first met at his newborn session. Also I can now tell that he is gonna be something like a detective or maybe a real Hollywood model, because no matter where I was with my camera, he kept his handsome, incredible-looking eyes glued to me.

A few months ago, I had the privilege to be a witness at this lovely couple's wedding, and also take their wedding pictures. It was a small, intimate wedding at the county courthouse with just family, followed by a mini photo-shoot, at the Fullerton Arboretum. It took me a while to post these pix, but I didn't want to miss the opportunity to show them in my blog - this especial and wonderful day for this wonderful family. |
